Santa Clarita Teen Brother-Sister Duo Features Songs from their Debut Album, ‘Not Quite New,’ Chat with Host in Second Guest Spot on ‘House Blend’
Limitless, the Santa Clarita teen brother-sister duo featuring singer-songwriters Emily and Ryan Arshonsky, make their second appearance SCVTV’s “House Blend” hosted by Santa Clarita journalist Stephen K. Peeples on an all-new edition of the WAVE-nominated music-and-interview series premiering Saturday, March 29, 2014, at 10 p.m. (Pacific).
Emily, 16, and Ryan, 14, perform unplugged versions of four original songs — “Second Choice” and “Take Me Down” from their 2013 debut album “Not Quite New,” plus “When You Come Home” and “A Song,” both written since the album’s sessions and previously unrecorded.
Limitless ‘Not Quite New’ to ‘House Blend’
The Arshonsky sibs debuted on “House Blend” in September 2011, kicking off Season 2 of the series with their very first original single, “Slipped.”
Now, in Season 4 of “House Blend,” Limitless’ latest set marks their first TV performances of all four newer songs, and reflects their growth as artists in the past few years.
Between songs, Emily and Ryan talk with Peeples about their musical inspirations and aspirations, and the sessions for “Not Quite New,” a fully produced album on which Ryan played all the acoustic and electric guitars and programmed numerous other instruments. Their father, Rich Arshonsky, played keyboards on several tracks as well.
The duo discusses why they like singing and writing songs together, at an age when many brothers and sisters wouldn’t dream of even hanging out together.
They also talk about their individual pursuits outside of Limitless. Emily is a junior at West Ranch High School in Stevenson Ranch, and co-captain of the school’s dance team. Ryan, an 8th grader at Rancho Pico Junior High, also plays guitar in the band Breaking 27.
